How to use the Multi-Board Helper

Multi-board word games such as Quordle (4 boards), Dordle (2 boards) and Octordle (8 boards) ask you to solve several five-letter puzzles at once with the same guesses. Keeping track of every board in your head is hard, and that’s where this helper comes in.

  1. Choose the number of letters and boards you’re playing.
  2. Type a guess. It’s applied to every board at once, just like in the real game.
  3. Tap each board’s tiles to match the colours that board gave you: green for the right letter in the right place, yellow for the right letter in the wrong place, and grey for a letter that isn’t in that word.
  4. The helper narrows down the possible answers for each board separately, so you can see which boards are nearly solved.

Strategy for multi-board games

  • Open with letter coverage. In multi-board games, your first two or three guesses should test as many common letters as possible (for example, words using E, A, R, T, O, S, L, N, I).
  • Solve the closest board first. Once a board has only one or two possible answers, solve it. Its letters give information on every other board too.
  • Don’t waste guesses. With 8 boards and limited guesses, each guess should either solve a board or rule out many answers on others.
  • Watch for duplicates. Answers can contain repeated letters, so a yellow or green letter may appear twice.
